He insists that honesty and trust are the true virtues of a merchant, but he's actually a con artist who accumulated a huge amount of wealth taking advantage of people when they let their guards down based on his naive appearance and unsophisticated way of talking. However, one day he was somehow drawn into a battle between the Cox and Tricorne Pirates, lost everything he had, and ultimately ended up stranded on Portanen Island. He regrets his past, swearing that he'll never lie again if he ever makes it back. But anyone who knows him will assume that's a lie, too.
