Sharpbelly

The sharpbelly is commonly found in rivers and streams, particularly in areas where the current is gentle, such as wide ponds and slow-moving waterways. Resembling sardines in appearance, the sharpbelly features a small head and a notably flattened, elongated body. These fish typically lay their eggs attached to water plants and are known to consume a significant amount of young insects. Their average length ranges from 18cm to 20cm.
