It's said a slate left by Erethea, the seventh witch, will be unsealed on the Festival Day. The slate itself says it will unseal as you get closer to the end of the Path of Prophecy. Perhaps it was originally meant to prevent the Abets from forgetting the future Erethea was worried about?
