Proverbs of the Morning Light I

There is a proverb that states, "I would rather live a life of solitude than become the wife of a tribute collector," in the Land of the Morning Light. Tribute collectors whose names are listed on the official ledger are obliged to collect a lot of tributes or forced to enlist as official boatmen or navy soldiers instead. As a result, many tribute collectors flee inland or set sail, never to be heard from again.
