A Small Animal's End

The bones of a small animal lie in a corner. It appears to have died from the cold, curled tightly into itself. There was no warmth, no companion to huddle beside. Ha... I came here seeking a place to die, only to find someone has already arrived before me. I could clear away the bones and lie down in its place... but I cannot bring myself to erase even the fading traces of another life just to make room for my own.
