It gnaws at my mind, little by little. The words that once sounded so sweet now seek only to claim my body. Even now, part of me wants to surrender, to stop feeling this pain. Just one day sooner, one day of peace, would be enough. The days I lived as a proud warrior are crumbling. I have no strength left to rebuild what has been broken. The black presence draws closer. Slowly. Coldly. It approaches to take my flesh.
