Born the son of a humble villager in Keplan, Marni's life took a turn one fateful day while tending pigs. A profound question struck him: "What is the origin of Humanity?" Thus began his bizarre and repulsive experiments, earning him a reputation as being "mad" among the people. When people in a town near his lab started to go missing, he was presumed to be the culprit and was attacked by the sorcerers and sorceresses of Tarif. He went missing afterward, but re-appeared with a new lab in a small forest nestled on the Mountain of Eternal Winter. Toshi, his top assistant, always accompanied him in the past, but he now works with Tori, a fox Demibeast who looks exactly like Toshi.
