Samsin Tree

As an inexplicable drought persisted in Dang Forest, the leaves of the Samsin Tree began to fall one by one, until only its bare branches remained. Then, the children of the village started to vanish, one by one. The common thread among the missing children was that they were all born after prayers and offerings were made to the Samsin Tree. The villagers' irreconcilable sorrow turned into anger, and that anger turned into curses directed at the Samsin Tree.
