Morning Loach

The fish exhibits a robust and slightly flattened body shape. It predominantly inhabits the faster-flowing upper reaches of streams where the water is clear and the floor is covered with pebbles. Its diet consists of aquatic insects and attached algae. When threatened, it burrows into the gravel or sand for protection.
