Bandits are able to effectively raid passing merchants because they have high Watchtowers.
Quest dialogue
On acceptance
Do you know why Bandits quickly notice
passing merchants or other people?
Because of their Watchtowers.
How could you not notice everything when you're high up on one of those towers?
They're smart. Be careful.
While in progress
You have to destroy the Watchtowers to escape from their surveillance.
On completion
If you see a Watchtower, destroy it right away.
It's nice to have righteous adventurers.
