Quest details
The results of Martha Kiyen's investigation of the contraptions all over the place shows that all of them are connected to a source under the ground. However, Martha Kiyen cannot enter the cave because of the Calpheon soldiers blocking it. Talk to the guard stationed at the entrance to the cave.

is connected to a certain point underground.
