Barattan Lancer suggested you to try using the restored Bautt Slate near a Shattered Bautt Slate.
※ If you lose the Enhanced Bautt Slate, forfeit and reaccept the quest to reobtain it.
※ You require at least 2 empty slots in your inventory to complete this quest.

On acceptance
Several of those pieces are small and imperfect,
but they're enough for our purposes.
Can you test those pieces to see if they work?
You'll find a Shattered Bautt Slate at the top of a valley nearby.
Go to where the shattered slate is and
see if you get a reaction when you use this Enhanced Bautt Slate.
While in progress
You'll find a shattered Bautt Slate missing its powers on
top of a valley nearby. Go to where it is and use this slate.
On completion
What's this? The Dwarf said it would work but nothing happened!
Guess we can add Dwarves to the list of idiot races.
