The Black Spirit said that vanquishing the skeletons seems to be getting you nowhere and tells you to defeat the physical manifestation of their hatred. Defeat the Skeleton King. ※ You cannot accept the "[Boss] Illezra's Servant" quest if you have a Skeleton King Summon Scroll in your inventory.

Defeating these skeletons is getting us nowhere! Have you noticed how vengeful spirits pool together, as if they're feeding off of each other's hate and spite? So, this is like a collective consciousness manifesting itself into a physical form. Let's go and face it head on! We have a whirlpool of hate to deal with ahead of us.
