June 7 The brief encounter with death made me realize many things. Back then, I thought the merchants were nothing but crooks trying to take advantage of consumers with expensive offerings, but I was gravely wrong. The goods they sold here were not something that could have a price. I immediately bought the pricey goods they sold and poured all of it into my mouth as soon as I got them. I felt alive again as blood coursed through my veins again. I realized that I needed to be better prepared in order to travel the desert. It's time to do what I do best, which is to look for work. I went to the stable, because they looked fairly busy.
