Starting a Second Life

The Alchemist Surprisingly, within the scroll was written prophesy of future events. Even the death of my wife from sickness... Guilt, rage, emptiness, and an unknown emotion raged within. I absolved from food or drink, wallowing in my despair yet only for a brief moment. For the sake of my two daughters, and to be able to face my wife and uncle in the afterlife, I needed to stand back on my two feet once more. With a strong resolve planted in my heart once more, and to prepare for the events prophesied by the scroll that had yet to pass, from that day forth, I devoted my all to alchemy. After having endured my brief episode in misery, my family looked upon my refocused self with some relief, and yet, a different kind of anxiety. But I didn't have the luxury to mind their concerns. To find the means to stop the approaching calamity, I lost myself in my alchemy. And, just as it was foretold, a ban on alchemy was issued over Calpheon.
