January 2 The sweat rolled down my cheeks as my heart thundered within my chest. I had never encountered a monster as enormous as this. I looked upward, shaking, to see the one-eyed giant staring daggers through me. His hostility was warranted. I had trespassed into their domain. But I knew I had to keep moving. How much of the world would I ever see if I didn't boldly press onward to new lands? I must make a show that I am unafraid, even with their leader's gaze upon me. I dug my nails into the skin of my thighs to ease my fearful trembling. One foot after the other, I marched - slowly moving forward. I learned that the only way to overcome your fear is to press onward.
