Irresistible Lure

January 7 Never before have I encountered such reckless Otters. Though I have surmounted great trials, it is these small creatures that now vex me. Their fishing rods brandished like spears, they make it difficult to advance. For days, I camped at a distance, observing their simple lives. They would sleep, swim, play, and hunt fish... Alas, their lives are indeed simple. The fish they capture serve as both their playthings and sustenance. Yet, the largest and freshest of their catch is set aside, offered as a sacred sacrifice. It became clear to me how to capture their interest. In my homeland of Velia, fish of such rarity abound... I shall present them with a fish so rare, it has never graced their eyes. The thought of their astonished cries, "Queek!" brings a smile to my face. This is my domain of expertise.
