They met a young girl named Mihyun there, the younger sister of the Fox Goddess. They discovered that these blue boils were Mihyun's cure for a plague that is to come from across the sea. Although she had lost her sister to the Humans, Mihyun had inherited her sister's benevolence toward their kind. However, when asked why only select people were to be spared the plague, Mihyun replies that it is retribution that Dalbeol Village must face. Her Fox Orb, which she lent to her friend to exterminate smallpox, had never been returned. "I was stabbed in the back by someone I trusted. Who would've guessed that the chief's father was a fox hunter?" The man in question was Sangyoon, the chief of Dalbeol, who she witnessed giving her Fox Orb to his father. She was pained by the thought that, if only she had the Fox Orb, she could have saved her sister.
