Chapter 2: Lee Duksoo the Yeongam of the East Lee Duksoo, born of a servant mother, was highly educated but could only enter the government through military exams. It was highly unusual for someone from his background to be appointed as a warden. Yet, his remarkable martial arts skills helped him become both warden and lieutenant general at the same time. His mother's death at the hands of his father's jealous wife fuels his ambition and obsession with success. Thanks to this, his performance as the Warden of Donghae Province is highly regarded. Initially disregarded by the Hyungam, he seemed accustomed to discrimination and contempt. It is somewhat bitter to see how quickly he made the Hyungam one of his own.
