[Storybook] Tale of the Mudang Wraith

Chapter 5: Finding the Water of Life Bari grew up to become a lovely lady under the loving care of the Birigongdeok couple. She had a heart of gold, and so, all the villagers loved her. The day she became a true lady, Bari had a strange dream. She was told to bring the Water of Life from the Dragon Palace for Lord Bonghwang of Mount Ahshi. When Bari woke up from her dream, she believed it to be her destiny, and bid farewell to the old couple who raised her. All she left behind was the serpent skin, her lifeline. But Bari wasn't the only one in search of the Water of Life. Woodcutter Park Jangswe also needed the water to save his ill wife, Maiden Ogu. The woodcutter waited for Bari to bring the water, and spread word of her possession of it. Word of the Water of Life reached a greedy satto. The satto's constables started to guard the gateway with their watchful eyes. Unfortunately, Bari was able to bring back the Water of Life, but, as the woodcutter had hoped, she never reached Mount Ahshi.
